Sunday U12 tournament

Bovey Tracey Chess Weekender combine with Devon Junior Chess Association, to host a 6-round event for Juniors under the age of 12. 

Age - open to any player aged 11 or under, on August 31st 2023.

Prizes

Trophies for 1st + 2nd + 3rd place - U12, U10, U8.

No cash prizes.

The organisers retain the right to change prizes according to entry.

Timings

Play will start at 9.30am - please arrive in good time. 

All entrants will play in all 6 rounds (except for byes).
The day will finish at about 5.00pm after the prize giving. This will be as soon as possible after the last round finishes. Prize giving for U9s will be earlier.

Time control - 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move.

Entrance fee - £15.

Entries from Sat 16th March onwards - £18.

Refreshments - there will be a stall offering hot+cold drinks and snacks.

Supervision

Please note that the organisers are only responsible for children inside the chess playing areas. Players must have someone to supervise them in the rest area. Please bring something to do between rounds. The event will follow local and national safeguarding procedures. 

Parking spots are a 5-12 minute walk from the venue. Instructions will be sent before the event. Please get in contact if you would like to reserve disabled parking.
